November 13, 2006

When the weather is nice we open our doors and windows to let fresh air flow through the house. The screen for our front door is retractable, so it has no frame to block the air-flow.

The only problem is many people cannot see the screen is closed (see the pictures to the right). Several have tried to walk through it only to be trampolined back into the room, embarassed and near shock.

The last person to do it ripped the hapless screen. Rudy (seen above) came by this morning to replace it.

Tomorrow we will try to find a nice stencil to paint a design on the fresh screen.

Great idea to save someone from an embarassing moment.

Funny! One of our friends walked through our screen door too. I really like your idea!

Sounds like something I would do....walk through a screen door! Love the idea of the stencil.

Good idea for a stencil--or a wreath.

LOL, good one Bill! Great candid shot!

Lol @Bill! A nice stencil of trees or something natural would be lovely! Good luck!

I'll be right over to stencil in a Penguin!!!!!!!!!! You have to be careful for the March of the Penguins, they'll all just rush through!~

I admit it, I've done the very same thing at my house. Looks like Rudy is measuring twice and cutting once.

Yes, a stencil is a very good idea!

I saw one of these retractable things at a home show not so long ago & liked the idea very much . . .I have plans of putting one on the door to the garage so that I can have airflow from there. Much better for me than the front door . . . . and the back one would likely have my dog doing what your friend did.

I walked through someones glass door many moons ago, someone walked through ours about a year later. Now we have a stencil on the door :-)

How about PAD for the stencil? Funny story.

lol! Flashlight might be a bit overwhelming!

I've dealt with a few of those and a stencil sounds
like a good idea...or flashing lights!

The visons of someone bouncing off the screen are too funny. Reminds me of many years ago when a worker walked right through our glass sliding door, Yikes.
Yes, a nice pattern stenciled should do the trick:-)

Years ago I remember that Wonder Bread used to stencil their product's image on screen doors of the local mom and pop stores.
excellent series David
enjoyed the commentary LOL
