When a vessel travels to a foreign nation it is customary to fly that nation's flag on the starboard spreader as a courtesy.
Some of you may remember that some portions of the Florida Keys seceded from the United States in 1982.
They declared war on the USA and immediately surrendered and requested foriegn aid.
The new nation is known as the Conch Republic.
**We left the Conch Republic** earlier this week.
Here I am lowering Shibumi's Conch Republic courtesy flag.
