March 24, 2006

When a vessel travels to a foreign nation it is customary to fly that nation's flag on the starboard spreader as a courtesy.
Some of you may remember that some portions of the Florida Keys seceded from the United States in 1982.
They declared war on the USA and immediately surrendered and requested foriegn aid.
The new nation is known as the Conch Republic.
**We left the Conch Republic** earlier this week.
Here I am lowering Shibumi's Conch Republic courtesy flag.

Who were these people? And why did they do that?.. Just kidding, no response necessary.

I keep pushing for a similar strategy out here in California.

Good to see you actually doing some of the work around there, albeit a relatively easy task! :-)
