Scientific name: Lorius garrulus (Linnaeus, 1758). The bird shown here is the nominate species, Lorius garrulus garrulus.
CITES status: CITES II - ENDANGERED. Distribution: Halmahera Island and Weda Island.
There is a sub-specie, the Yellow-backed Chattering Lory (Lorius garrulus flavopalliatus), which has a patch of yellow on the mantel.
