Oink, Oink

Monday 16th May - Day 149

Many years ago, apparently pigs were let loose in the streets of Okehampton overnight to perform a sort of public refuse facility, gobbling up a lot of the rubbish that had been dumped in the streets. To commemerate this, there are these stylised pigs outside the church in the town centre... often overlooked, I think they are quite amusing.

For those wondering how I took the PaD yesterday, Bench on the Croquet Lawn , here is an image of the photographer at work

Great shot, Lee, and I love the story that goes with it. They don't turn our local pigs loose -http://www.pbase.com/donna_lear/image/32286235
