Offering to the Naga - Huay Xai - Laos

One of the surprises for me of this trip was the ubiquitousness of offerings. Every morning the women of the town gather to give rice to the monks - but they also leave little dollops of rice in other places - Here a woman is putting some rice in the mouth of the Naga which acts like a banister up the hill to the temple. You can see fruit and a cup of something also being offered.
I also like the sign in this image. For me it really places the town as a river town. The spa is "upstream."
