Much of the labor in Thailand and Laos is done without machines. While we were stopped for a scenic shot, I notice a man working on the side of the road. He was gathering grasses which will be made into brooms. (Here is an image of the grasses as they await deseeding - Broom Grasses ) The wooden yoke was for him to carry the grasses on down the road.
