Looking south-southeast from a plateau above Negro Bill Canyon. Straight ahead is Abyss Canyon, a branch of Negro Bill Canyon. It runs away from this vantage point and angles to the right in front of the low shadowy cliff. Where it angles right, Echo Canyon angles left. The sandstone plateau straight ahead is the location of the practice loop of the Slickrock Bike Trail. The dark ridge on the skyline is the Moab Rim.
Visible in Abyss Canyon is the old road that Jim Doss and I walked up in 2012 on our way to Echo Canyon. At lower left is a small portion of the Negro Bill Canyon trail that leads to Morning Glory Natural Bridge.
This vantage point was one of my goals for my Moab visit in April 2015.
It is at the center of this WikiMapia aerial view.
