Cooper's Hawk

Westerville, Ohio view map

A Cooper's Hawk watches for prey while perched on a limb deep in the forest
at Sharon Woods Metro Park near Columbus, Ohio. This area of the forest was so dark
on an overcast spring morning that I was forced to use ISO 3200 and still the best I
could do was 1/160th of a second at f/5.6. Additional bird images are in my Animals gallery.

Considering the conditions, that's a great shot. Even without the difficult lighting, it's a great shot!
