The Transamerica Pyramid stands in bright sunlight while buildings a block away form
a dark canyon in downtown San Francisco. According to the Transamerica web site
( http://www.transamerica.com/company_profile/about_the_pyramid/ ), the building
was designed to allow natural light and fresh air to filter down to the streets below,
unlike the surrounding box-like buildings.
