Sparring giraffes

Washington, DC view map

Two giraffes at the National Zoo in Washington, DC, engage
in "sparring" or "necking" activities. Researchers say that
juvenile and young adult male giraffes "compete" with one another
by hitting each others with their massive necks and heads, part
of the development of a dominance hierarchy among male giraffes.
