Our car broke down right as we were in line for a ferry to Gallipoli (Gelibolu), on a Sunday when nothing was open. We had to rent a very expensive hotel room, leave the car, rent another one, drive two hours to catch the fast ferry to Istanbul, get the car repaired long distance (a water pump that they couldn't seem to find for four days), then do the whole thing in reverse to retrieve our car on Friday ($1,500 later for everything) and drive back to Ankara (a 14-hour day).
