Doing it the old-fashioned way

While at Union Station the other day, I was struck by this sight of an old-fashioned shoeshine stand, obviously not at a lack for customers. I had to go down the escalator twice to get a shot that halfway turned out ;-).

Colorful house on Capitol Hill, posted earlier:

They''re providing a much needed service and believe me, they make a helluva lot more money than one would expect ... at least $10 a crack, 5-8 an hour ... under the table, tax free mostly, indoor work, no lousy boss on your back ... they're not complaining and are appreciated by their customers.
