Thank you for taking the time to visit my pbase website. This site contains selected images dating back to the summer of 2000 when I first had the chance to travel west for photography. Up until that point I had used photography as a means to record landscapes to use as subjects for oil and watercolor paintings or photography and for recording images of friends and family. I grew up in Southwest Virginia (Salem) and have always loved the mountains and nature scenes. Since "retiring" ( also known as working part time) I have had a chance to travel more working around my oldest son's work schedule since most of my traveling has been with him. He also enjoys photography and is an excellent photographer and painter.
Some of my interests in photography are nature scenes, landscapes, beach scenes and national park photography. The natural beauty that I have been very lucky to see and photograph is often taken for granted yet there is no guarantee these areas will continue to exist unless we work to protect them. Sharing the beauty of these areas with others through photography is one way I hope to encourage people to apppreciate and protect these areas for future generations. I also have a great fondness for black and white photography that has carried over from shooting film when I was younger so please check out my black and white gallery if you get a chance.
For information on prints please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Most images are available as prints that are in the public domain but some images that I have photographed can not be sold without a release from the owner(s) of the property.
Once again thank you for taking the time to visit my pbase site and I would like to add that is wonderful being part of the pbase community. There are so many fantastic photographers on pbase and I have learned so much by looking at how others see the world. I also enjoy seeing places in other photographer's images that I doubt I will ever see in my lifetime.
