A scene at our local supermarket showing that fall has finally arrived in DC. It has also gotten cooler and less humid, thankfully.

I wanted to explain why I’m photographing such mundane things in Washington, a truly beautiful city full of great photo ops. We have lived here several times over the past 30 years, and I have photographed it both on film and in digital a number of times – http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/washington_dc_a_capital_city and http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/rediscovering_capitol_hill__washington_d_c -- to give a few examples for people who didn’t know me then. I just don’t want to do it all over again, so am trying to find things that are new or different, or maybe a fresh perspective of things previously photographed.
