This is a production still from “Shadow Sites II,” which shares the complexity of powerful and beautiful images of ancient and contemporary landscapes and structures that testify to loss and to history. … The seemingly abstracted landscapes are ‘shadow sites’ because only when the sun is low can the details of the landscape, archaeological sites, and settlements be seen from the air.”
