'Shadow Sites II' by Jananne Al-Ani

Jananne Al-Ani was born in Kirkuk, Iraq, and currently lives and works in London. This is a production still from “Shadow Sites II,” which shares the complexity of powerful and beautiful images of ancient and contemporary landscapes and structures that testify to loss and to history. … The seemingly abstracted landscapes are ‘shadow sites’ because only when the sun is low can the details of the landscape, archaeological sites, and settlements be seen from the air.”

With this image, at least one work from all 12 photographers has been included and this gallery is almost finished.
