The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who ruled Morocco from 1672 to 1727, was built in the 17th century. It was a beautiful complex both inside and out, with its several courtyards, burial chamber, ablutions room, fountain and marvelous tile work and doors.
This is one of two enormous and elaborate doors (at least 12 feet high) to the burial chamber, pictured below. I was determined to get a shot of the entire thing, but it wasn’t easy, and the crowds didn’t help, either, so I also took a closer view of the lower part of it (following image).
