The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who ruled Morocco from 1672 to 1727, was built in the 17th century. It was a beautiful complex both inside and out, with its several courtyards, burial chamber, ablutions room, fountain and marvelous tile work and doors.
This is the burial chamber and tomb of Moulay Ismail, taken by Tim. Interestingly enough, I think I was so taken with the gigantic doors to this room (pictures to come) that I forgot to photograph his tomb, so I’m glad he found a break in the huge crowd and was able to get this.
