Meknes, Imperial City of Morocco

Meknes in the north was one of four imperial cities of Morocco, in the late 17th to early 18th centuries. It is surrounded by 40 kilometers (25 miles) of walls punctuated by a number of magnificent gates. We unfortunately only spent a few hours here as we had to get to Fes before evening, but the city has much to offer and would definitely be worth a more extensive visit.
