These look like carpets, and are often quite attractive, but they’re really synthetic with a rubber backing and are meant for picnics outside, especially in the desert. You see them everywhere, and we even have one that we bought in Jeddah. Haven’t been out for a picnic in the sand yet so haven’t used it!
