These long-limbed skinks are the most arboreal of the Tasmanian skinks, and can occasionally be seen high in stringybark trees
basking on dead limbs. They are just as much at home foraging amongst the rocks on the west coast of Tasmania, but they are not
very happy amongst leaf litter. Superficially similar to Metallic skinks, they can be distinguished by their smaller scales and relatively
longer limbs. They are not as shiny as their relatives the Mountain Skinks, and tend to have a more flecked pattern. Tasmanian Tree
Skinks often bask communally, and there are reports of these skinks aggregating in logs over winter. The males fight vigorously for a
few days over summer, then settle down again.
