The Pickle Shot

I love you like a brother, man, but you have got to let go of all these thoughts that are clouding your unique vision. Everybody posts shots hoping for the endless list of compliments. But let's face it, unless we start shooting for Playboy, that's probably not going to happen, at least not for hacks like us. ;)

I could care less what you post everyday, as long as you post something. That's what I finally came to realize recently. And most of that realization comes from seeing your PAD and what happened in your life that day. I now use that as a basis for my PAD shots most of the time. I'm far too busy to create some (in my mind) work of art everyday.

For a while now, we have lived virtual lives thru each others photos, and realize we share similar interests. We had a few memorable nights in Chicagoland, which netted me more than a few wonderful shots of you and yours. We've celebrated the arrival of a child, and I've been lucky enough to have held and comforted her so that you guys could enjoy your ice cream before the fireworks. We've shared serious anger and plotted revenge against parking lot attendants who cross us when we least expect it.
(I was ready to roll out for you man)

So, if you decide to take a picture of a pickle, so be it. And to prove how I feel about you as a person and as a respected photographer and writer, I am posting my own picture of a pickle. Ian hates pickles by the way, but once he found out it was to poke fun at you, he was all in.

By the way, this is all Patty's fault. ;)

My new philosophy is to journal what is happening in my life, maybe getting a good photo. Or, taking a pic of something that looks interesting, and try to come up with something clever to say. If I fail at one or both, so be it. It's an exercise in creativity, and I am not afraid to put myself out there. The comments are almost always encouraging, and I count pBasers as my cyber friends.

Ditto John, You've led me to a number of sites that I check daily, and these two are amoung them. I hope Patty, Jim, and you would post everyday, but, I'm retired and don't have anything to do all day long except to look for things to take pictures of, and I miss way too many times.

Post when you can folks, we little poeple appriciate it!
