When I first looked at this file in "Lightroom", the tree and the dark part of the image in the lower part were total black. But using the "fill light" in Lightroom I found there was detail in the black ! I had to be careful in the sharpening that I did not get too many artifacts in the dark areas. But this was a grab shot as the light hit the rocks for a second and no time to set up for HDR (which I have not yet mastered anyway). AND it looks like Lightroom will have a steep learning curve as well.
