5/25/08 - A Rose by any other name....

Seems to be a cross between a hybrid and a wild rose - "nearly wild?".
Larger than life-size using a 1:1 macro together with a 1.4X teleconverter. Add in a gusty breeze to increase the challenge; thank goodness for Plamps (Plant Clamps).
The image reminds me of the Georgia O'Keeffe quote about "....no one sees a flower really; they are so small; and to see takes time...." or some similar words. Macro photography of the small world of flowers is to be transported to a whole other world when looking through the viewfinder.

Nikon D300
1/40s f/8.0 at 105.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto
