Blue Pied Peafowl - male

Scientific name: Pavo cristatus mutation pied
Order: Galliformes

This particular Peafowl is an apparent mutation, based on the white plumage, of the India Blue Peafowl (Pavo cristatus), probably a result of cross breeding. This shot was taken in Bangkok, Thailand.

I just saw a pied Indian Blue peacock on a farm last weekend, and it looked just like this.

Sorry, could just be a pied mutation of India Blue

Evil breeders! That is a spalding, which is a hybrid between the Green Peafowl and the Indian Peafowl. Greens are endangered so that is considered a threat to conservation.
