These are species of starlings in the Sturnidae family, found in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands. Their natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
They are social and omnivorous. Their diet often consists insects and fruit. Most individuals have dark plumage which has a metallic luster.
