Warmth February 24

It began snowing about 10 this morning and it hasn't stopped more than twelve hours later. I thought about going outside tonight and trying some long exposures. Standing in the garage for two minutes, holding a tripod changed my mind. Warmth. Warmth is a very good thing.
Coming back inside I saw this vase, a very tall piece of cut crystal that belonged to my aunt Genevieve. The reflection of the kitchen wall (painted burnt orange on a whim) danced off the glass - ice-y crystal, warm orange. It seemed to fit the night.

Donna, I like the B&W vesion best. I especially like the small fanlike structure in the center of the frame. If you have a macro lens you might want to focus on just that structure. With the right angle and light it could produce a very nice image.

Very nice. Sharp. I like how the burnt orange give the glass a metallic effect on alternate glances. I see metal at one glance and then glass the next time I look.
