Hudson Valley Landscapes

This is home.
New York's Hudson River Valley extends north from NYCity to Albany and was settled by the Dutch, English and French in the seventeenth century. It is designated as a National Heritage Site.
In 2009 we will celebrate the 400 year anniversary of Henry Hudson's first sail up the Hudson River.

This gallery's photographs show scenes from in and around the Mid-Hudson Valley Region, an area that displays beautiful colorful foliage in autumn.

I am an amateur oil painter since my retirement several years ago. I did a painting based in your beautiful photograph entitled The Road Home, From the Hudson Valley group of photos. I hope you don't mind. I modified the photo with the addition of several female figures in late 1890s dress. It is only for my personal use, not for sale. Your photos are all exquisite.

Dond........your landscapes really are quite wonderful. I am originally from the Hudson Valley area (now residing in the south east) and your photos bring back warm memories of the Hudson Valley's great beauty, especially during the fall season.
