A 1913 Peugeot going head-to-head with a 1912 International Harvester Motor Wagon. Look at the wheels on the International - enormous! The early vehicles for use on farms and rural settings had very tall wheels, because the roads were rutted and muddy. As the roads improved, that became less necessary.
The Peugeot was French. European cars tended to be smaller than American cars, due to the narrow roads in much of Europe.
