Been wanting to do something like this for a while now. 1 Second exposure. Thought the tripod was gonna blow over and be sucked onto the track. Panic Panic LOL

Oh I just love these kinds of photos. Great contrasts. Hope you had a sturdy tripod! How horrifying would that be, to see it get sucked in by the subway!! angela :)

I love this shot! The way out sign made me laugh out loud - at first. Of course "Way Out" has a different meaning in American English (my first interpretation was in American English)... The world is whizzing by this man. There is a sign showing him the way out of his loneliness (or rut or whatever), but he is not seeing it! Great job iso! - And a little different than what I'm used to seeing from you. – Olaf

I would agree about the post coming out of your head.

I have mixed feelings on the "Way out" sign. I find it interesting as an element of the picture, but also distracting as my eyes moved to it pretty quickly. It is ironic that normally you want someone to be drawn into a picture and discover the different aspects, but here you give them a quick exit.

Overall... I like it very much, but I am a sucker for motion blur and heavy metallic objects hurdling around.

That's an outstanding picture! I love the general composition and lighting (contrasts). The "Way Out" sign is a nice touch too.

I suppose avoiding that pole sticking out of the head would be near-impossible? It's just a nit though.

This train is a fast train - it doesn't stop at this station. It's doing about 70mph hence the blur you see in a mere 1 second. Everyone on board is sitting down, and it's quite late and there's hardly anyone on it. If you could see other figures I wouldn't be so alone in the frame so it's for the best. Glad you like it. I nearly didn't post it.

ISO, I love the blur of the train. The feeling is of a much longer time than the 1 sec exposure. Reminds me of time lapse video, and I half expect to see the ghost like images of the other passengers as the moved about while you were motionless. Very nice photo. E-

Great Image....it has a nice "Had a real bad day and just want to be left alone" feel.

Good Job
