Hartney Wintney has a very old cricket club - it was originally formed in 1770.

Their ground is delightfully placed and I had such a shot in mind to illustrate this village.

From my childhood days, I do remember Hartney Wintney as a refreshment stop when we'd take the coach down to Somerset, Devon or Cornwall. These days, the motorway network makes such stops redundant.

Just as expected...the geographical distribution may be different, but the scene is familiar to me :) I'm sure the residents of Hartney Wintney have no objection to the traffic by-passing them....safe to say, cricket is alive and well !!
