2nd Place - Found A Good Stick

This spoonbill was using the stick to stir up the water. I'm not sure if it was just being playful, or using the stick as a tool to help it find food. This went on for some time. More images of this in Pending. Here it's carrying it from one clump of plants to another.
Unfortunately, the bokeh in this shot is a bit agitated.

Thanks Traveller, but ....... the rougher bokeh isn't a positive to me. I think most people lean to a "creamy" bokeh, and generally so do I. The double images and doughnuts in the background of both these images are, to me, distracting, and look like someone bumped my elbow while I was taking the shot. That doesn't apply to the in-focus areas, of course.

Both pictures are very, very good...let us be clear on that first. However, the "rougher,' bokeh....is a positive isn't it? Traveller

Thanks Traveller. I like the other image and was tempted to put it in Eligible. I might still do that if I don't hit the quota with other photos. The one currently in Pending has even rougher bokeh though. Regards, Michael

Dearest Michael: I am going to disagree (honorable people can honorably disagree), but I really, really love, Later - Still Holding The Stick.

I realize there is more classic action in this shot...but the weird appeal of the Duckbill is captured fully, for me, in the image in Pending.

I can ignore the rough bokea because the foreground detail and action is fantastic. What a super find! Paul
