Just a side note, this is the full frame. No cropping was done on this shot. I wish the files from the 70D were as clean as I get from the 6D. But because of out warm, 40 degree temps, I used the 70D cause the hole in the ice is probably double what it was a few days ago.
It's with the Sigma 150-600 "C" lens. This otter lives in a state park 15 minutes from our home. We go to the park 2 or 3 times a week. We've seen the otters (up to 5) a grand total of 5 times in 5 years. The odds are getting a bit better though. We've seen this one 2 of the last 4 times we've been there. The ice on the river is keeping his movements more predictable. Add the fact that it's a network of 10 people reporting where and when they are seeing him/her is really helping all of us viewing it.
A note on the lens, It's pretty good on the 70D, it is fantastic on the 6D. Tack sharp wide open, at any focal length. (for the 6D)
