The Porta de Santiago gate at the A'Famosa Fort in Malacca is one of the oldest surviving European structures in Asia. It doubles as a fun playground for this little boy.

How marvelous! It is as though a live child has been juxtaposed onto a painted canvass, the real with the created. The kid and the circular portal both lean the same way -- backwards, and all the rough places and worn away paint only add to the feeling of motion and abandon.
