This century-old Chief's House was closed when we visited, and I made this photo through a window from the outside. The house is no longer inhabited although there appears to be a caretaker who comes and goes. This is part of the kitchen in the house, and I was surprised to see that there were still food items on the shelves. As some of the containers were plastic, they appeared to be from recent times and not the original items belonging to the chief. But the food did look like they were past their expiration dates. This kitchen looks uninviting and unappetizing with all that damp mould on the walls. I wonder if it is possible that it is still in use.
