Bamberg

Bamberg is a town in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in Upper Franconia on the river Regnitz, close to its confluence with the river Main. It extends over seven hills, each crowned by a beautiful church. This has led to Bamberg being called the "Franconian Rome", although a running joke among Bamberg's tour guides is to refer to Rome instead as the "Italian Bamberg". The old Town of Bamberg is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, primarily because of its authentic medieval appearance. A thousand-year cultural and architectural site, it is a beautiful town with unforgettable small and winding alleys with picturesque views at almost every turn.

We lived on Acacia street in 1969-1975 MY dad was sgt kenneth Rohr great times he was also a manager at the Mohawk Theater.

was stationed in Bamburg in 58-59 with the 3rd inf div. LOVED it and the people . use to go to the wildrose café- bet it's still there . and the roxy bar across from the base. great memories :)

I was in Bamberg 65-66 in the army at Werner Barracks. The Old Town Hall and Attlenberg seem the same as I remembered. Good merories and friends while I was there. Frank Medeiros New Bedford, Ma. USA

Such a nice pictural visit. The last time I was in the most beautiful city was as a young American soldier in 1959. Sorry I was too youn and ignorant then to appreciate what you had. I am hoping I can find a way now for this older and wiser person to return and enjoy your Stadt and hospitality.
