24th - "Paintbox"

James' Basement, Cheltenham

(from the 1973 compilation album Relics)

You never know what's lurking in your friend's basement - luckily for me, James is a dab hand with a paintbrush and is always painting something. Thankfully, he likes to keep his empties (or nearly-empties) stacked up in the downstairs utility room, ready for the next spot of emulsion action. Not much post work here at all, just a strong Curve and a similarly strong Levels to really emphasise the deep contrast in the shot

Excellent processing, well done.

Nice processing here... it really makes the colours stabd out. My husband has quite the collection in the basement too!

Hey Doug....I really appreciate you sharing some of your processing tips. It's interesting to read and gives me a few ideas to experiment a bit more. When it comes to pushing the processing to create something more creative and artsy I'm a bit of a sissy.

I could use some of that to paint my house before I lease it out. Very big collection!

At least its quick drying, you didn't wait long to see the photo.....oops old habits.

We have a stack of these in the shed. Never know when you need to do a bit of touch up. Cool shot with this lighting and bright colors.

Mine live in the loft - working on the same principle that they may, just, may come in useful!! Very nice treatment.

a very nice paint box, like the exposure
should they not be disposed of conform EU rules?

I wonder why we can never bring ourselves to throw out these pots until we have kept them for a couple of years?? They make a great subject for this title.
