(from the 1967 album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn)
This weekend just passed saw us Brits (and some of our Commonwealth partners as well probably) celebrate Guy Fawkes Night whereby lots of fireworks and such are let off in celebration of the foiling of Guy Fawkes' plot to blow up the House of Parliament on November 5th 1605 with a large wodge of gunpowder. However, I wanted to use the occasion for a much more galactic travelling and musically inspired reason...
...I set the camera up in the back garden on 1/100s at f/2.8, attached my trusty cable release, and waited....and waited....and waited....until eventually next door started up their fireworks. "About bloody time too!" I shouted over the wall...this may have been an unwise thing to do since Mr. Neighbour is a lot bigger than me. But I digress. This is a concatenation of about 7 different exposures, layered and blended in CS3 with a smidge of saturation. I added a dab of radial blur for that warp drive feel!
