I have to admit that when someone said Nashville has a copy of the Parthenon, I thought, "Why??" Well, now I know.
This is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens. It was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition and today serves as an art museum. It is the only building preserved from the 1897 Exposition.
This beautiful building is featured in Robert Altman's classic film "Nashville."
