I did a double take when I spotted this TR6 inside an old car dealership. I thought I had found my old car. Since it has those black rubber bumpers it's either a '75 or '76.
I bought a brand-new yellow TR6 in Alaska in 1973 for $4300 and kept it for many years, dutifully keeping the twin carburetors filled with oil. Having a 6-cylinder engine, and a beautiful rosewood dash that required lots of oiling, it was joy to drive and could really move along. The red-walled tires were huge but seemed to be a perfect fit.
British Leyland made them in Coventry, England from 1969 to 1977. The TR6 was the best selling of the Triumphs (94,000 made) and many consider it the last true Triumph sports car ever made.
