Most of the 1991 movie "Thelma and Louise" was shot around the Moab area. The final scene in the movie when they appear to drive off the cliff of the Grand Canyon was actually shot just below Dead Horse Point shown in this photo.
A recently published book on Grand Canyon National Park said that after the release of the movie Grand Canyon Park experienced 5 intentional "drive- off -the- cliff -in- a- car" deaths.
