Een kopje thee? Zo gezellig hé?

in English...A cup of tea? That's so cozy, isn't it?...

April Scavenge Hunt Challenge: Gezellig

"Gezellig" is a very difficult word to translate into English as there really isn't any English equivalent. It means "cozy" but only in the context of "friends and/or family". For example, you might be cozy sitting by yourself in front of a fireplace but this wouldn't be "gezellig" unless you were having a conversation with a friend next to the fireplace.

My mother is from the Netherlands. She helped stage and write this correctly as I can speak some Dutch and sound out some of the written word out but cannot write it!

Special Note: The tea pot belonged to my Grandmother. The spout broke and her brother put a rubber piece on it to extend its life. This was many years ago and now I use it for special occasions. The tea cups were given to her over the years.

This picture seems to fit perfectly to the meaning of "Gezellig", because it is a tea for two and includes friends even if they are not on the picture !

A wonderful photo! Everything on the table looks great, as well as their reflections. The background is good. An all around good photo. The explanation is interesting, I wonder if I can do a Gezellig now that I know the details.

A very amicable way of sharing with friends...I love your teapot...of course now the trend is to toss it out & replace it...sadly!!
