140209_7533 Red Dawn Over the Escarpment (Sun 09 Feb)

Austinmer Beach, Illawarra, NSW

Somewhere behind that red, misty cloud lies the Illawarra escarpment and the sheer drop to the coastal plain below.

On this morning, however a combination of mist, dust and the red light of the morning Sun combined to obscure it. As a result, the trees to the west of the beach seem to just vanish into a translucent band separating earth and sky.
