The sight of these red tipped poles set against the famous (relatively) Sydney sandstone caught my attention as I was wandering around at lunch time. This was previously just an open block of land that was used as a car park of sorts but is being developed along with the upgrade to the Star City casino which it borders. Further images from this shoot will be in the Pyrmont gallery when I get around to creating / updating it.

Edit August 2023: Star City was renamed The Star in late 2011 after a series of building upgrades including, I would guess, this one. As of the time of writing the building that went up here is The Darling, a 5 star hotel whose official address is 80 Pyrmont Street but which actually sits on the corner of Pyrmont Street and Union Streets. Why I left out the location from the original description of this image, I have no idea. Nor can I fathom exactly where I shot this from. In other shots in this series I can identify a building on the corner of Pyrmont and Union streets off in the distance, but I can't figure out how I got it from that angle. My suspicion is that it was taken from Edward Street, the street on the other side of the block from Pyrmont Street.
