Given that we had a public holiday on Tuesday, Thursday becomes the "hump" day of the week.
And it's a day with hovering storm clouds threatening, but not entirely delivering, thunderstorms as can be seen here. Oh certainly you'll get occasional flashes of lightning and booming rolls of thunder, now and then you'll get a few thick, heavy drops of rain plop onto you from above, just enough to turn the humidity up to an uncomfortable level... but no actual cooling, cleansing storm. The closest we've had to that today has just passed (as I write this at 7:30pm) and while the ground is now finally wet, it's taken a while and you'd hardly be running for shelter were you to be caught in it.
The rock is one of several which are scattered through this park on the escarpment above Pyrmont Point; they're fashioned into seats but left in a largely "raw" condition.
