ITA with all the above, Zak!! "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about" and people need to talk about you and your pics, it's our fix! And just taking the opportunity to thank you for allowing us to post some of the best Zak specials on our site. You're worth more to Bute than thousands of ££££'s of tourism budgets.

You can't stop....just do it once in a while...like 5 out of 7 days!
carol j. phipps15-Nov-2008 02:58
Keep seeing and recording.
Guest 14-Nov-2008 22:50
Please don't stop Daily Bute Zak.

Brrrr, can feel the cold from this picture!
charlie t 14-Nov-2008 21:50
Keep up Your good work mate.
Helen 14-Nov-2008 20:17
Please don't ever give up the Daily Bute we love it.
DIGSMOM 14-Nov-2008 18:17
Zak I don't think you realise that your site is more than just a collection of images. For those of us who don't live on Bute any more its a vitally important life line. I know it must seem like repetition to you but please don't stop.
Mosey 14-Nov-2008 18:06
Don't you flipping dare stop. I know where you live, you know. He's right about the light variations too, as well you know! You photos are an inspiration to all of us happy snappers, we aspire to your standards.

The Isle of Bute has been my Tir na nOg for seventy seven of my eighty three years. The visit to your site high lights the day. Many thanks and please continue.
Guest 14-Nov-2008 13:46
Zak - you gotta be kidding, right? Every single evening I make a point of logging on with the kids just to check out your daily photos. This really keeps us going in between visiting the island. KEEP TAKING PICTURES! Richard, Sth London.

I never get tired of a series of the same place. Every day is unique, but for those of us who have never been there a series like yours provides a great insight into what "real life" is for those who make it home. And it provides a much more realistic picture than a set of only the "nice" days or the "Visitor Bureau" shots. So if you must, just lower the frequency. But don't stop completely. I'm with the majority on this one. :)
Nicola 14-Nov-2008 10:10
Zak, I 2nd all that has been written so far about you stopping PaD. Please don't stop completely, but the PaW idea may be worth considering. I enjoy seeing what's going on on Bute when I'm not there - which is most of the year. When I visit my mum and dad, I seem to always miss the best weeks/days and look at your site to see what I have missed. I also like to tell my relatives about things that they don't know that happened on Bute that day, despite them living there! :P
Guest 14-Nov-2008 10:05
wE all love your daily photos but realise the commitment is huge. Once a week would definately be better than none at all.
Yvonne14-Nov-2008 04:47
Looks a miserable wet day in Bute today,
but what would we do without our daily fix!?
Barbara Heide14-Nov-2008 00:50

You could always start a "Pug with a Blog" ;-)
Coleen Perilloux Landry13-Nov-2008 22:17
This is a nice shot of "time" in the mist, Zak.
And, like the morning newspapers, I look forward to Daily Bute every day.
Dave 13-Nov-2008 21:23
How are us ex-Danes meant to keep up with Bute without Daily Bute!

Seriously It's an ace site man please keep it up!
Douglas 13-Nov-2008 21:23
Definately Not - Sad though it may seem sometimes Daily Bute is the only thing I switch my PC on for at night. Even if you were to drop to say weekly Bute that would be something
Guest 13-Nov-2008 21:05
Unless you are really pressed for time Zak and it is a real strain for you, please do not stop Daily Bute, I love checking it every day, however, if you have other commitments, so be it, but if not, keep them coming.....can you not organise that it is self financing, I would pay a subscription to check daily what is happening and so must others....is that not something to think about?..you do a great job....Michelle n Frank

A Mans got to do what a Mans go to do Zak. I really hope that you continue this site. It`s the first place I visit every night. I live on the east coast and only get to Bute to see my boat.

I`m always surprised at the stuff that goes on down the Clyde and on Bute in particular . I never see much in the way of tedious repetition, but I also recognize the extreme tie of such a project. Especially for a young chap like yourself who has a lot of things that you feel you might be doing, with that most valuable asset, IE time.

You could always do a compromise site just BUTE or whatever snappy name would suit a less frequently updated site.
Nicki Thurgar13-Nov-2008 20:53
You'll get withdrawal symptoms! So will we! ;o)
Midbute 13-Nov-2008 20:40
Zak, I travel on the ferry every day, to work and I never get a chance to see it from the outside, please keep taking pictures! I have lived here all my 45 years and I never get tired of looking at your pics.
J. Scott Coile13-Nov-2008 20:05
...and just in TIME ;-)
Helen 13-Nov-2008 19:45
Please don't stop. You've no idea how much I and my family would miss it. Anyway, I still have hopes of appearing in one of your photos one day!
Johnny JAG13-Nov-2008 19:35
Pbase will collapse without Daily Bute!
The Traveller 13-Nov-2008 19:30
The pics might feel like repeats if you can see Bute every day, but for those of us not so fortunate, they're a fascinating insight into the steady changes that the island sees, especially in recent times.

I think anyone that does a daily site of any type appreciates the effort and commitment PaD takes, so maybe winding down to PaW would be more popular - Picture a Week?
Liz 13-Nov-2008 19:11
I'll be very sad if Daily Bute comes to an end - but understand it's quite a commitment and I guess you have other things to do with your life! I think if you look back over what you've done, you're not repeating yourself as much as you think. And sometimes there's a gem of a photo. Don't forget - all good photographers have to take hundreds of pictures to get that one good one...
Jenny Faa 13-Nov-2008 18:13
Gonny no dae that, pal. I'd not only miss PaD, I'd miss Coleen Perilloux Landry as well!
royalld13-Nov-2008 17:52
Ending the Daily Bute? I think not.
Vistors come and go... so to us each day is new.
Besides no two shots of the Calmac Ferries ever have the same light.
