This one is EASY
Today's answer can be found in it's spring form here http://www.pbase.com/yvonneii/image/69769908

YES, those who said "rose hip" get a tick! A nicer version of this rose can be found in the
link just mentioned.

But no one got remotely NEAR yesterday's puzzle,
so here's a more identifying shot & the answer

Tuber? Bulb? Dead flower head? An alien from outter space?
Jola Dziubinska02-Jul-2008 23:52
A nut? Very nice macro and DOF.
Mairéad02-Jul-2008 17:06
Looks like alien matter from a B movie but I'd guess some sort of seedhead.
Phillip Normanton02-Jul-2008 11:30
Looks like a mummified spider, yikes! Or a dead rose? Hmmmmmmm :)
Ian York02-Jul-2008 10:29
it might be easy to you but it has me stumped..
if I didnt know it was flora, I would have gone with a sea creature
Máire Uí Mhaicín02-Jul-2008 09:20
Rootball of some plant with thorns?
Piet & Elsabé Enslin02-Jul-2008 05:50
Plant material, we have some bug here with very simmilar patterns
Maaike Huizer02-Jul-2008 05:34
Looks natural and pricky (is that an English word?). Some sort of strange plant perhaps?
Linda Willets02-Jul-2008 03:42
looks scary whatever it is
mathilda williams02-Jul-2008 02:42
it looks a little bit scary to me....like some bug that's going to pounce at any time!
great detail

well I know it's not a dried up octopus but it sure looks like one! some sort of plant seed pod perhaps?
Russ Rose02-Jul-2008 01:34
It does look like a pillow tassel to me.

Hmm...is it easier on certain continents than others? ;o) I can get as far as plant matter...
