Kennett Square is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World. Mushroom farming in the region produces over a million pounds of mushrooms a year. To celebrate this heritage, Kennett Square has an annual Mushroom Festival in early September. Longwood Gardens, one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States, is also located in Kennett Square. It consists of 1,050 acres (4.2 km²) of gardens, woodlands, and meadows.
