Three hots and a cot

In the vaulted, skylit cell, the prisoner had only the light from heaven, the word of God (the Bible) and honest work (shoemaking, weaving, and the like) to lead to penitence.

Excellent image of a scary place. Kingston Penitentiary is of the same vintage as Eastern and is is still in use, though scheduled for closure this coming Oct. Depending with whom one is talking this is either a bad/good thing. Take a look at the accommodation up to 1901http://www.pbase.com/parpho/image/132396374 Always, I enjoy your travels and photography.
